Xanax Addiction Treatment

While Xanax can offer much-needed relief from anxiety and panic disorders, dependency on benzodiazepine drugs can develop gradually, often without the user even being aware of it. What may have started out purely innocently can suddenly spiral into a physical and mental dependency, and if left untreated, addiction.

At New Leaf Recovery, we understand that Xanax dependency is a deeply complex and personal journey. Our Xanax addiction treatment programmes provide the safe and structured environment individuals need to overcome their dependency safely and discreetly. Through a medically supervised detox and personalised therapeutic care, New Leaf help clients rebuild their lives free from a reliance on prescription medications.

What is Xanax?

What is Xanax?

Xanax is a prescription drug that is prescribed to treat anxiety and panic disorders. It is the brand name for alprazolam, which belongs to the benzodiazepine class of drugs.

As a depressant and sedative, it boosts the production of GABA in the brain, the neurotransmitter responsible for producing feelings of relaxation and calm. The drug has a short half-life, it taking effect about 30-60 minutes after consumption. Users typically take Aanax to reduce anxiety.

However, because it is fast-acting and a highly potent drug, Xanax does carry a significant risk of dependency and addiction. Indeed, many benzos are only prescribed for short-term use for this reason.

Long-term use beyond the initial prescription period, or taking Xanax at higher doses, significantly increases the risk of dependency.
