What Does Our 28 Day Rehab Programme Consist of?
Staying 4 weeks or more with us means enrolling onto a full course of rehabilitative treatment for a drug or alcohol addiction. This includes medically supervised detoxification, and a broad range of rehabilitative therapies.
Our 28 day treatment plan starts with a medically supervised detoxification (or detox for short).
A detox is the first stage of recovery from a drug or alcohol addiction. This is because it is first necessary to rid the body of all harmful toxins built up during addiction before rehabilitative therapy can begin.
At New Leaf, we offer medically supervised detox as part of our 28 day programme. Here, clients benefit from 24/7 medical and therapeutic support. We ensure all withdrawal symptoms are managed safely and effectively, and that the detoxification process is made as comfortable as possible.
After detox, clients staying with us for 4 weeks will then begin participating in a range of rehabilitative therapies. The range of therapies offered by New Leaf as part of our treatment plans includes:
- Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
- 1:1 Counselling
- Group Therapy
- Art Therapy
- Movement Therapy
- Meditation & Mindfulness
- Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT)
- Health & Well-Being Sessions
Clients will participate in a bespoke mix of these therapies tailored around their individual recovery goals. Our rehabilitative therapies make up the bulk of our 28 day treatment plan. Treatments will be delivered at different times of the day across the full 4 weeks to ensure no two days are ever the same.
Why Choose a 28 Day Rehab Programme?
Choosing a 28 day rehab programme means choosing a more thorough and holistic approach to addiction recovery.
It gives individuals struggling with a drug or alcohol dependency the intensive therapeutic support they need to make lasting changes to their life habits and thought patterns. This gives them best possible chance of overcoming addiction and maintaining sobriety upon leaving rehab.
Unlike our 2 week and 21 day rehab programmes, a 4 week stay offers a more intensive and immersive blend of therapeutic treatments. This includes the opportunity to complete the 12 step programme, as well as more therapy sessions for deeper psychological healing, and a greater range of holistic therapies.
In offering a more immersive experience, our 28 day rehab programme aims to comprehensively treat each aspect of addiction, including its emotional, psychological, physical and behavioural aspects.
By addressing each cause, our 4 week rehab treatment plan cuts to the very heart of a drug or alcohol dependency, aiming to cure addiction at its core. It allows clients to delve deep into how their addiction first developed, and equips them with a more comprehensive range of techniques and coping strategies that will help them to maintain their sobriety post-rehab.
Rehabilitative Treatments
1:1 Counselling: During a 28 day stay, clients will have extended access to a dedicated rehabilitation counsellor. Our counsellors act as key points of contact for the recovery journey. Regular 1:1 therapy sessions will be scheduled where the psychological aspects of addiction can be thoroughly explored and addressed. This gives more time for deeper psychological healing from addiction’s psychological aspects, as well as more time for the development and implementation of coping strategies.
Group Therapy: An extended stay also allows for the integration of additional group therapy sessions. Led by a qualified therapist, these sessions give individuals the chance to build deeper and more meaningful connections with those on similar journeys. It allows individuals to build up a stronger support network that they can carry with them into life post-rehab. Group therapy sessions are a feature of New Leaf’s Rehab Aftercare Programme, where clients have the opportunity to re-connect with others and re-strengthen the resilience gained during rehab.
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT): Over a 28-day stay, clients will also have access to regular CBT sessions; a scientifically proven treatment method for addiction. Through practical strategies, CBT aims to replace substance-seeking behaviours with healthier habits and thought processes. With additional sessions, our treatment plan aims to equip individuals with the professional tools required to manage addiction triggers, make lasting changes to their lifestyle, and maintain long-term recovery.
Holistic therapies: A 4 week stay also allows clients to participate in a greater range of holistic therapies. These include meditation, art therapy, movement therapy, and Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT). These sessions aim to train individuals on how they can use certain techniques to regulate their emotions and relieve stressors that can act as triggers for addiction. An extended stay allows for more consistent practice, which is crucial for carrying the techniques learned into life post-rehab.
The 12 Steps Programme
The 12 Step Programme is one of the most widely used and respected treatment plans when it comes to treating a drug or alcohol addiction. During a 28 day stay, clients will have the time to fully participate and complete this programme, something that a shorter 14 day or 21 day stay cannot accommodate.
Being able to complete the full 12 Steps of addiction recovery provides clients with a stronger understanding of the root causes of their addiction. It also equips them with practical tools for managing triggers, and provides a sense of community through shared experiences with peers.
The programme also reinforces coping strategies learned in therapy, helping clients build long-term resilience and self-awareness. By integrating the 12 Steps into our 28 rehab programme, individuals leave rehab better prepared to maintain sobriety, and continue their recovery journey with greater confidence.
By offering a comprehensive blend of the above treatments, a 4 week stay provides individuals with the intensive and comprehensive support required for deeper healing from a drug or alcohol addiction. It allows for the physical, psychological, emotional & behavioural aspects of addiction to be thoroughly addressed, treating addiction at its core.
Meanwhile, it also supports long-term recovery by giving clients more time to practice coping strategies, helping them to integrate these techniques into everyday life for sustained sobriety.
Why Choose a Private Rehab Clinic?
Enrolling on a 28 day addiction rehabilitation treatment plan at a private residential rehab centre provides the secluded and nurturing environment that is crucial for lasting recovery.
It gives individuals the time they need to fully focus on themselves and the healing process, as well as the physical space needed to remove themselves from their life stresses and addiction triggers.
During their time in rehab, individuals have the opportunity to fully come to terms with their dependency, resolve personal issues that lead to substance-seeking behaviour, and develop healthier coping strategies and habits.
This ensures clients are equipped with all the tools and techniques they need to conquer their addictive habits for good once they leave rehab.
