Once you realise that you, a friend or a family member needs help overcoming an addiction, the next step is to find the right recovery treatment. New Leaf’s 28 day residential drug and alcohol recovery program will provide you with the resources you need in order to turn over a new leaf in your life.
What’s included in the program?
The full programme is 28 days and has been carefully thought through and designed to face the reality of the impact of addiction on our lives (and on that of our loved ones), gain a greater understanding of the illness and how it affects our thinking, behaviour, self-esteem and motivation, before building the hope and belief that we can develop effective coping strategies that enable us to cope with our emotions and feelings in the longer term.
Included in our 28-day detox program is:
- Medically assisted detox and withdrawal management.
- Residential accommodation.
- Many types of therapy.
- Individual and/or group support and counselling.
Treatment will start with a detox to the substance or activity that you are addicted too. During this process, you will be monitored around the clock as you will experience withdrawals as your body clears the drugs from your system. However, to assist with this part of the process, medication may be prescribed to ease the symptoms of withdrawal.
Once your detox is over, you will start on other areas of recovery work including behavioural techniques. Some of which may include:
- Cognitive behavioural therapy
- Contingency management
- Motivational enhancement therapy
As well as this, a large proportion of your recovery program is based on counselling sessions such as:
- Group counselling
- Individual sessions
- Family therapy/ support
